Hi, I’m Amanda Rae.

That’s me!

I graduated in April from the University of Florida with a Master of Education in Student Personnel in Higher Education. I was an advisor for the Reitz Union Board (RUB) Entertainment, a student-run programming board that provides free events for the student body. I worked with some of the most hard-working, dedicated, passionate, silly, and sassy students at the University of Florida and I absolutely adore them. They make me laugh just as much as they impress me with their hard work.

I thrive from my involvement in the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA), including serving as a Graduate Intern for NACA Regional South Conference and Graduate Intern for NACA Nationals Convention. I even was the Graduate Intern for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for summer 2016 in Fraternity and Sorority Life and Leadership Programs, and loved my time in Chattanooga! I was fortunate enough to present at NACA South 2016 and will be presenting at NACA Nationals Convention in February too. I am so thankful for this professional organization that continues to provide me phenomenal opportunities to grow personally and professionally. Plus, the friends and colleagues I have met provide the best encouragement and support.

For more about my story, please read my first blog post amandarae — who me? or Why I joined Student Affairs. I began my collegiate experience at the University of South Florida where I earned a dual degree with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2015 (in non-fancy terms: I got two separate degrees in Organizational Communication and Deaf Studies). In my time at USF I was highly involved in the Honors College, serving on the Honors College Student Council Executive Board and as a student employee until I was fortunately hired full time my final semester. I also was a founding sister for the Eta Eta Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority where I served in multiple leadership positions and discovered the amazing advantages that Greek Life provides.

Beyond RUB Entertainment, I worked in various areas around campus. I taught a first-year seminar course, served as Emergency Dean On-Call, held a practicum in the Disability Resource Center, and recently served as the Director of Professional Development for the Student Personnel Association. Peers and students describe me as outgoing and passionate, while hard working and relatable.

Since I graduated, I am trying to figure out what I want to do with my life, my career, my passions, and my adventures. This blog used to be very Student Affairs based, but it’s slowly shifting it’s focus to a passionate, 20-something year old woman who has 3 degrees and too many dreams that she doesn’t know what to do first.

Outside of work, I love going on 24-hour adventures, solving puzzles, watching Disney movies, spoiling my precious niece and nephews, and blogging. Please connect with me on Twitter @Amanda_Koslow or email AmandaRaeKoslow@gmail.com.
